Homeschooling Facts - Research against Homeschooling

Homeschooling FactsA lot of research has been done to proof that homeschooled children's academic achievements are better than that of learners in public schools.

There is, on the other hand, very little research available to proof arguments against homeschooling.

Certain questions that were raised by experts in the education field can, however, not be ignored.

Regulation of homeschooling seems to lack dismally in most states of the USA. The parent has the freedom to teach any curriculum and some even work without a specific curriculum.

Marty Hittelman, the president of the California Federation for teachers, has a problem with the stringent standards, evaluation and training teachers are subjected to, in public schools, compared to homeschooling parents that are not expected to undergo training or any form of standardized evaluation.

According to the California Federation for Teachers, there are also no standards or specific exit exams imposed on homeschooling students, in the California region. This seems to be the rule rather than the exceptions in most of the states. Even though these arguments proof some problems regarding the control of homeschooling by the state, it is necessary to mention that regardless of this, most children being homeschooled still have much higher grades than most of their peers in public schools.

Further than these specific negatives been pointed out regarding the regulations by the state, the rest of the opposing arguments against homeschooling are just arguments and there is no research available to proof the validity of these arguments.

Many of these arguments point to possible problems, that any parent considering homeschooling should definitely be aware of.

Most of the arguments against homeschooling rather has to do with the ability of the family to provide the correct homeschooling opposed to definite research that homeschooling is wrong for everybody.

There is no argument against the fact that there are many challenges for homeschooling parents and children. Before homeschooling can be successful and be of more benefit to the child than public schooling, the parents will have to realize and overcome these challenges.

Homeschooling. Facts, please?
I'm in grade 6. You may think 11 is an early age to hate school, especially when it's the hate that you usually get when you enter the realm of hell, high school. But my problem is the same. I've been hated at my school since grade 3. Yeah, I have friends, but that doesn't stop me from getting depressed day-to-day. After a while, people have been spreading rumors that I'm emo, that I stuff my bra, that I'm a lesbian and what not. So therefore, I want to be taught and surrounded by people who love me and don't really have reason to spread rumors... Which means to be home schooled or online schooled. I'm not sure if they offer this online schooling at such a young age. But really, I'm sick of all of that stuff, and I refuse to injure/take my life because of it. So, I need some facts to convince my parents to home school me. Does it cost? If so, how much?(for regular text books and such) What are the laws for it? When should I ask? How should I ask? And any other answers you think I may need. ((and yes, I have talked to adults at my school about the hate/rurumorsroblems. the don't seem to help)) I just moved into this house, but it is still in my district. My parents refuse to transfer me. I've been looking into K12, but what does it offer...?

Homeschooling, facts and opinions?
Hi there world! SO I'm going to get home schooled for a year only. I just want the experience and I'm in love with the performing arts. Which often does interfere with school work, which is why homeschooling is so ideal and practical! I would just love it if i could get an insight of what its like. I think its definitely appropriate to know what I'm in for, and get a taste of the home education life. If you ever did homeschool: what did you like and what didn't you like? What was the educational agenda like when you were at home? Did you find the work more mentally challenging? (if so this is good) Opinions? Facts? If you didn't: Can you please share any facts and opinions on this subject because I'm used to going to regular school so i don't want to be disappointed or surprised during this experience. I would absolutely love some insight so thanks guys for contributing! By the way, while i will research this, i would like to know additional details on how to get private tutors etc. you know a professional educator to come to your house. I think there is a stage involved where you have to apply for something I'm not sure. I have also heard (true or not) that usually you have to pass grade 10 before your eligible for homeschooling but i don't know how legit this statement was. thanks guys so much!! appreciated!!
