Would homeschooling be a good idea for me?
I have just finished the first quarter of my tenth grade year. I have been through private schools since Kindergarten. I have recently developed a very serious health condition and I have missed a month solid of school. My parents and teachers are having a meeting next week and might possibly take homeschooling into consideration. I am just a little worried about leaving all of my friends, and doing work from home. It's something that I have never done before. Although it seems scary, it seems a bit exciting. Could you help me convince myself that it won't be the end of the world if I have to leave all of my friends behind and stay home without them everyday? Positives that I am thinking about: -I could invite my friends over on the weekends. -I would have more free time. -I wouldn't have to get up early/go to bed early. -I could hang out with my neighbor (who is homeschooled) every day and we could work with each other on our homework (we are a grade apart and will probably be in the same homeschooling program). -I could join an acting academy near my house that I have never had time to do because of school. -I could take up gymnastics again. :) The Negatives: -No prom -No parties -No goodies (like field trips and prizes from school events/parties) -Less time with friends... Please if you could just help me figure out a plan of acceptance for the fact I most likely will have to drop out of the academy I am currently in. :/
